The objective of the County of Nye, Nye County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Services cooperative agreement is to improve public safety and security at and surrounding the Nevada National Security Site located in Nye County, Nevada.
Objectives
The objective of the County of Nye, Nye County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Services cooperative agreement is to improve public safety and security at and surrounding the Nevada National Security Site located in Nye County, Nevada. The financial assistance will provide the Nye County Sheriff’s Office financial support to increase its capability and to enhance their law enforcement presence.
Eligible applicants
The Nevada National Security Site is located entirely within the limits of Nye County, Nevada and in the absence of any alternative authority for the National Nuclear Security Administration, the responsibility for the enforcement of local and state laws on the Nevada National Security Site remain the responsibility of the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.
Financial assistance range
The cooperative agreement is the first financial assistance agreement awarded to the County of Nye, Nye County Sheriff’s Office by the National Nuclear Security Administration and will be awarded in fiscal year 2025 for a performance period of two years. There was not a cooperative agreement in place between both parties prior to the current fiscal year. The initial award for the first year is $100,000 with anticipated additional incremental obligations for a maximum reimbursable funding ceiling of $515,052 year one and the range for the second performance year is estimated between $100,000 to a maximum reimbursable funding ceiling of $557,889.
