Objectives
An objective of the Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management is to maintain its responsibilities under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The Federal Facility Agreement (FFA) for the Oak Ridge site is a long-term agreement designed for the numerous stages of the CERCLA process. Activities under the FFA include site evaluations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, removal actions, records of decision, remedial designs, remedial actions, and follow-up evaluations to ensure remedy success. Other FFA related activities include: Natural Resource Damage Assessment, interagency working groups, surveillance, land use planning, and long-term stewardship activities.
