Objectives

To support earthquake hazards research and monitoring in order to develop information, knowledge, and methods relevant to the major Earthquake Hazards Program elements: Assessment and Characterization of Earthquake Hazards; Monitoring and Reporting Earthquake Activity and Crustal Deformation; Conducting Research into Earthquake Causes and Effects; and Earthquake and Safety Information for Loss Reduction. Specific objectives and research tasks identified as measures of progress towards the goals of these program elements are described in greater detail in Program Announcements posted to Grants.gov.

Eligible applicants

Public and private colleges and universities; Non-profit, non-academic organizations; For-profit organizations; State and Local Governments; and unaffiliated scientists.

Past Fiscal Year (2024): $14,949,531 Current Estimated Fiscal Year (2025): $28,500,000 Budget Estimated Fiscal Year (2026): $8,000,000 FY25 and FY26 amounts are based on prior year funding levels only.
